Summary
Some days do not go as written: a confirmation fails, a site shuts, or a train leaves without you. Each failure has a different owner and a different recovery cost, and the expensive part is usually time rather than paperwork.

Three Ways a Day Goes Wrong
Most days run as written. When one does not, the cause is one of three: a booking that cannot be confirmed, a site that closes, or a missed train.
Failure One: The Booking Cannot Be Confirmed
Inventory belongs to the carrier, not to us: a seat, a timed museum slot or one room can be sold to another buyer between request and confirmation. When a confirmation fails we move it to the nearest realistic equivalent that day, and quote the cost before applying. Real-name bookings and timed entries explains why a seat is tied to one passport.
Failure Two: The Site Closes
Museums close for maintenance, scenic areas close for weather, and smaller venues shut at short notice. No buyer-side operator can prevent a closure. What can be controlled is the shape of the day: two or three stops absorb one as an hour, while a day built around a single headline site has nothing to fall back on.
Failure Three: The Train Is Missed
A rail seat is personal, so a missed train is not transferable and the seat is not carried forward. Traffic, a delayed flight or the wrong station end the same way. The first hour decides the day: whether a later service has seats, and whether the rest of the itinerary still works.
Who Decides What Happens Next
Three hands are on the decision. The venue decides what inventory exists. We decide how the itinerary is reshuffled and what the rebooking costs. You decide whether the alternative is acceptable. A supplier who promises the outcome in advance is guessing.
The Cost Is Time Before It Is Money
Administering a change is quick; the cost is time. This is also where the line between our costs and yours is drawn, so we keep it in writing. Deposits, payments and refunds sets out how money moves when a plan changes, and insurance, permits and compliance is honest about which losses belong to a travel policy.
What to Do in the First Hour
- Message your coordinator before buying a replacement ticket yourself; two tickets in parallel causes most refund disputes.
- Send the confirmation you hold, even as a screenshot; we work from the record, not from memory.
- Say how much of the day you are willing to lose; dropping one stop to protect the evening is fair.
- Keep moving. A traveller who reaches the station can usually be rebooked; one waiting in a hotel lobby cannot.

Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if a museum is closed on the day we visit?
The closure is the operator's decision, often announced only hours ahead. We substitute a comparable site in the same city or reshuffle the day.
Can you rebook a train ticket after the departure time?
The seat is personal and not carried forward, so a new booking is needed under the same passport details, subject to seats remaining.
Who pays when a day has to be rebuilt?
It depends on the cause. Where the failure is ours we absorb it; for a closure, weather or a missed connection, the extra cost is normally the traveller's, which is what a travel policy covers.
