What a China Trip Quote Actually Includes - and What It Never Does

Summary

A China trip quote is a scope document before it is anything else. What every quote should name line by line, what it normally leaves out, and the three lines that decide how the trip actually runs.

What a China Trip Quote Actually Includes - and What It Never Does

A Quote Is a Scope Document, Not a Total

The total is the last thing to read on a China trip quote, not the first. Read the rest of it, and you will see what a quote really is: a scope document. It says what is being arranged, by whom, and where those arrangements stop. Two quotes for the same ten days can look identical on the cover and still describe two different trips inside, because the scope differs.

What Every Quote Should List, Line by Line

To be namedWhat a complete quote says
HotelsStandard named city by city, not one star rating
Intercity legsRail with the class stated, or a private vehicle
TransfersAirport and station pickups, and who meets you
Guided daysItemised by date, with the free days left free
EntriesTimed-entry reservations held in your name
MealsSpecified day by day, not "some meals included"
PermitsRegistration handled on your behalf
ContactThe person reachable while you travel

What a trip planning service does describes the same list from the inside.

What a Quote Normally Leaves Out

International flights to and from China. The visa application. Personal spending. Optional activities added after arrival. Days before or after the quoted dates. Meals that are not listed. Gratuities. Personal items. None of these is unusual - every operator draws a line somewhere. What matters is that the line is written down rather than assumed, so nothing turns up later as a surprise on the ground.

The Three Lines That Decide How a Trip Runs

The inclusion line: where responsibility begins and ends each day. The responsibility line: who carries a missed train, a closed site or a cancelled supplier, and how quickly you are told - the contract terms should say this plainly. The revision line: how many changes are possible before departure, and what happens to confirmed bookings if your dates move. Ask for all three in writing: a quote that answers them is a working document.

Reading One Quote in Ten Minutes

Start with the dates and count the nights, then name every hotel, city and intercity leg. Mark anything vague - "hotels of a similar standard", "sightseeing" - and ask for it to be named. How a private route is put together should match what the quote promises.

Where We Stand

We are Shenzhen Baochun International Tourism Group, a licensed travel business: licence L-GD-CJ00234, issued under Lv Fa [2013] No. 180 by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, covering domestic, outbound and inbound travel. Our unified social credit code is 91440300192407197A. The group was established in 1996 and registered in Futian, Shenzhen, with operating bases in Hunan, Yunnan, Zhejiang and Guangdong. Every quote we send lists inclusions and exclusions in the same document, and the person who answers your enquiry stays reachable while you travel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a China trip quote include international flights?

Usually not. Flights to and from China sit outside a ground arrangement, so they are quoted separately. If you want one team to hold the whole booking, ask for them to be listed too.

Why do two quotes for the same itinerary look different?

Because they describe different scopes: hotel standard, guided versus free days, rail class and how many entries are pre-booked all move the inclusion line. The difference usually shows in the exclusions rather than on the cover page.

Can a quote change after I book?

Confirmed components normally hold. Anything still inside a supplier's booking window can move, and changing your dates affects hotels, rail and entries at once. How deposits and payments work sets out the order of events.
