Summary
Net rates, markups and white-label are three commercial questions that sit above the day-to-day operating detail. This is what a net rate covers, how the three cooperation models differ, how a markup is built, and what white-label still requires of the licensed entity behind the brand.

"Net Rate" Is a Term of Art, Not a Discount
"Net rate" is a term of art, not a discount: a price quoted to a trade partner with commission removed, leaving them to set retail. What sits inside it moves more than the number, since guiding days, vehicle class, tickets and hotel tier shift between quotes. Comparisons only hold when the inclusions are written beside it.
The Three Cooperation Models
Trade relationships in China settle into one of three shapes, and the terms move with the shape.
- File by file. Each enquiry is quoted on its own, nothing is committed ahead, and rates follow the season.
- Agreed rate sheet with committed volume. Room nights or departures are committed for a season; in exchange, rates hold and space is set aside.
- White-label ground operation. The agency sells under its own brand while we operate behind it: vehicles, guides, tickets, day-to-day decisions.
How a Markup Is Built
There is no single house margin. A markup is built as a flat fee per traveller, a percentage on land cost, or a service fee per group day, depending on what the operator absorbs. File-by-file bookings carry more risk per departure; committed volume spreads it, so the percentage usually falls. Volume, season and payment timing move the result most; the schedule belongs in a written contract.
What White-Label Actually Requires
White-label is described as a branding question. It is closer to a liability question: the agency invoices the traveller, while the licensed operator still contracts with hotels, restaurants and transport suppliers. Three points need settling first: which entity is named on supplier documents, which carries the licence, and what the agency may say about who operates. Our cooperation page sets out that split.
Where the Model Changes in China
China adds a condition most long-haul destinations do not have. Inventory is allocated in timed windows rather than by open availability: entries release in blocks, rail seats on a fixed calendar, and real-name rules mean a name must exist before a seat can be held. An allotment is only as useful as its paperwork, so expect to supply names early. See how to brief a China operator.
What a Rate Sheet Will Not Cover
Boundaries matter on both sides. We do not publish a rate list: quotes are built against a defined file or an agreed season. We do not hold space in a live window without a name behind it. And we will not sign an agreement before the brief is written, because a rate without a shape means nothing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you publish net rates?
No. Rates are quoted against a defined file or an agreed season, and are not posted publicly. Send the brief and the quotation returns with the inclusions beside it.
Can we sell your operation under our own brand?
Yes. White-label operation is routine for agencies holding the customer relationship. What does not change is which entity carries the licence and contracts with suppliers; the cooperation page sets out the split.
Is there a volume threshold for a rate agreement?
We do not publish one, because volume alone does not decide it. Committed room nights, the season and how far ahead you confirm all move the terms. Most agencies start with one file and decide afterwards.
